After Registering a new domain name , and knowing the difference between the free web host and premium one , and knowing also what are the web hosting types and which one is suitable for you , if you decided to work on premium web host not free one , then this post is for you , today’s is a review post for The Most popular web host company in the world … It’s Lunarpages .

I will not show you an article of 30 paragraph praising lunarpages to force you to buy from it  like most of people do , I will write 6 or 7 small paragraphs about my experience with them , and then I will quote about 10 reviews from their users , that I’ve collect them from the internet .

My Review :

my review is depending on the basic hosting plan :
First Lunarpages is offering you unlimited web space and bandwidth , you have to know that there is nothing called unlimited web space or bandwidth , but you can say that they will guaranteed you with the space and bandwidth you need if you need more .

they have lot of features in their web host plan , like PHP , MySQL , streaming videos and music , addon and parked domains , lot of ready scripts ,  they have a good server up time and wonderful support team .

You will found that there is lot of hidden fees , there are a lot of other service that required you to pay more , they also will told you that the basic plan is only for $4.95 , but you may shocked when you are registering as you will find it will be 4.95 only if you order 60 month , Really it is VERY long period , and if you order 24 month you , it will be for $6.95 , and the more the period decreased the more money you will pay .

There is a free domain included with the basic host plan while not included with starter plan  , if you are going to buy the starter plan , then never buy the domain from lunarpage , you will pay $20 for the domain , but it only for $7.5 from company like godaddy and later you can connect the domain with your web host , and you will save about $13 .

I get a web host from them for about 6 months , in the beginning a had a small problem with them as my website was down , I contact them and they apologizes me for what happened as they have some issues in their servers , then after two days the web site was back , after this issues I haven’t face any problems with them .

The worst thing you can face that you will not allowed to upload some scripts like hosting files , or hosting images , the unlimited web space that lunarpages offers you is not for saving files or backup files on it , as it against lunarpages TOS .

Starter and basic plan is the best solution for personal websites , blogs , school websites , event websites , try not to put a big website on starter or basic plan not to do high server load , or your website will be closed for a while until you remove the something that caused high server load .

If you have a big website then try to order VPS , or dedecated web hosting .

I left this company as I’m paying so much , If you are searching for strong web host whatever the price is , then lunarpages will be the best solution for you  .

At last you can try it for 30 days , they offers you 30 days money back guaranteed if you are not satisfy with their services .

Had a problem only one time when my site was not opening, however, i sent an email and when i got their reply, the problem had been vanished!

They will rip you off.

I purchased a years hosting from them – their reseller account – come to find out that their reseller accout only allows ONE domain name…unless you email them to add a “few” domains. Whoever heard of a one domain reseller?

Well i cancelled – 2 tickets….NO RESPONSE!
So I called and finally got a hold of someone who calcelled, but….they stiffed me for $15.00.

See I paid $95.00 for their 1 year hosting plan which included a FREE domain, so I chose a free domain.

When i cancelled I was told they would refund everthing but the domain fee….so I checked my refund and was only refunded $80.00. Meaning my domain cost $15.00???? They said it was through tucows.com and would not refund it, but my
lunarpages invoice CLEARLY states that the domain cost was $0.00 and the hosting cost was $95.00……Yet they refused to refund my entire amount.

Stay far far away from them.

I’ve been with LunarPages for 2 years now after having a very bad experience with iPowerweb. Lunarpages is awesome!!!!
Support is excellent. servers are reliable. Overall they’re just a great company. I’m going to sign up another account with lunarpages for a new website in teh next week or so.

I want to tell you guys about my lunarpages experience. First, I found them through a top 10 website review. BIG mistake I understand now. Not really that big of a deal if I can rely on them which is reall all I want. But I don’t think I can.

First thing I did after creating my account was go to setup my email. I was very excited, this is my first domain ever. I set it up and then find out I can’t receive email! After reporting this to their staff and setting up a ticket, I find out the next day that I wasn’t receiving email because I had set my mailbox quota limit to 5000mb. Apparently that was too high they said! Why would they give you the option of doing that if it’s just going to screw things up? That’s just stupid. I knew I didn’t need that much but I figured I’d set it and forget it and it would be no problem.

Then the next thing was just yesterday when I went to check my website and it was down. And so was their LPCP (control panel). I don’t know how long it was down for but I noticed it for about half an hour.

I’m still within their 30 day refund policy since I only started the account on tuesday. What do you guys think I should do? Is it commomplace for websites to go down from time to time?

I would really appreciate any suggestions you guys might have as a reliable host. Also, how do I go about tranfering my domain name? Do i tell lunarpages I want to cancel first and then tranfer the domain or do I setup an account where I want to domain to go, then cancel?

Sorry for all the questions, any help would be appreciated!

They provide many packages, I use shared hosting for my site: myhostingdirectory.com .

They scan the server for virus, shell script and will email you if your hosting have shell script uploaded. I use many other hosting provider and only Lunar pages have this service .

They also email you if your open source script is not up to date (my site using Joomla).

I feel my site is more secure with Lunar pages .

How ever they use old version of cpanel so I can not zip the folder, only zip using SSH ($2 /month) .

uptime and speed are good

here is no need to be searching for unlimited diskspace / traffic – it doesn’t exist. It may show the infinite symbol, but it is actually limited.

Review 8 :

I maintain a single blog in wordpress in the subdomain blog.e-healthgr.com. I continually had problems with their servers. They suspended my account without any logical reason. Their reasoning is that i overconsume resources. CPU usage: 6.49 MEM usage: 0.42 MySQL usage: 1.0 Top Process %CPU 64.0 php Top Process %CPU 56.0

We are talking here about a single blog in Wordpress. The theme was not mine but was one used by many blogs out there.

I find their excuses lame. My blog is neither wikipedia nor techcrunch to have such resources consumption. They are incapable of giving trustworthy support to a single blog in Wordpress.

They are asking me more money to move my blog in a dedicated server! Of course I am not going to give them any money for extra services plan.

Does anybody here now what legal actions i can take? They have occupated my account, i can not control my own data and they are not giving me the services which i paid for.

The technical support team in Lunarpages are SUPER. I have dedicated server hosting with them and their technical support team are always willing to help. Never push our problem to each others among themselve like ipower does. Their forum is also great, question post, always a reply with a short period of them. Never let their customers hanging. Never have down time, price is reasonable. Management people are also friendly, really can’t ask for more. I am glad that we found Lunarpages

As you see their are lot of Contradictory reviews , but If someone ask me for this web host , I wll recommend him to be away from it if you have a big website , if you are using just a blog or a personal web site it will be very suitable for you , or try better web host like hostgator , zen six , and others ,  I will put their reviews tomorrow , wait also for how to pick up the best web host for you , and how to get the web host you want .
