A design for your website is considerd from the most important thing to put in mind , your web design is the first impression your visitors will take about your website , If it a good design , the visitor will start to discover your website , but if it is bad one , sure he will close the browser page immediately .
And when I talking here about a good web design , I’m not telling you to put the most wonderful pictures , filling your home page with Flash elements , or maybe putting a Flash intro , or spread your Advertisments everywhere in your website or blog , but when I’m talking about a good web design , I’m telling to put in your mind 3 things :
First : a simple layout
and simple layout is not meant that you only make your home page just texts , you can put a nice header , simply describe your website niche , prefered to be in .gif extension to be easy loaded , plus a light footer having an important links .
Try to be away from any flash elements , visitor can spend up to 2 minutes to start to surf your website if you have any flash elements , remove this flash elements , and never makes your website load more than 30 seconds , besides that search engines will never index your flash elements , so you are going to lose both visitors and SEO .
Second : Fast to Load
make your website fast to be loaded will give your visitors the advantage to navigate your website , you can make your website load quickly by decreasing your pictures as you can , use .gif extensions as it have good quality with low space , remove all your flash elements and intro , never think of putting a music in the background , sure all visitors love the same song , the song you may put in your website maybe most of visitors hate it , sure they will close your website and never come back again , besides your heavy load and buffering for this track .
Third : Easy to navigate
Do not make your visitors like a baby who is searching for his mom , put your menus in good place to be seen clearly , use the top menus , menus in the side bar , and never think to put a pop up windows , I’m one of millions who hates pop up windows , I think loosing your visitors is worst than having some cashes for this pop up windows .
Also be aware of having extra large text , or extra small one , make your text size normally , I usually use the H3 or H4 in writing my articles and paragraph , and H2 in titles .
